Change Is Good

Change is good, . . . right? I mean, change is good! The seasons change and it's a good thing, we get to see our world in different stages of growth (and death - uh, sorry). It's just that I've been homeschooling my kids for 7 years and I really, really liked it. It really has been the best time of our life. We had experiences together that were magical. Simple stuff, family stuff, educational stuff, fun stuff. I mean, I always knew I couldn't homeschool the kids forever and that things would change and that change is good (. . .right?) So, it's okay that my daughter is away at college and that my son will go on to the technical school and that my other daughter is at the public (yuck) high school and that Pop-Pop is moving in with us and that we will have to get cable TV for him and that we are changing our family room into a bedroom . . . change is good. The words to The Serenity Prayer come to mind. "Grant to us the serenity of mind to accept that which cannot be changed; the courage to change that which can be changed, and the wisdom to know the one from the other, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen."

Amen!

The older i get the less I like to change! But as this body ages I cannot do the same things I use to do - so I have to change!

So much change... I would need more than serenity. I think anti-depressants dipped in chocolate would be the only thing that would ease the transition. Bless you for taking in Pop-Pop. He will be in good hands I am sure.

Peace,
:)De

Thanks :)De, and btw, where do you get anti-depressants dipped in chocolate? Can I get my doctor to prescribe some? Ha-ha.
Peace right back at you.

Thanks for sharing...I needed to read it and the Serenity Prayer again... Thanks!

Glad you made it home safely!

Oh read Safely Home by Randy Alcorn if you haven't. Awesome book!

Thanks Robin. Jesus didn't come before I had to get on the plane, so I am home. I will be adding that book to my reading list. I am reading a book right now on "Slow Medicine" - about caring for loved ones over 80. I am what you call the "Sandwich Generation", caring for children still at home and caring for aging parents in your home at the same time. Should make interesting material for blogging, don't you thinK? :)

Aw, a sweet smile comes across my face as I read this blog entry! My kids are little so I can't relate yet; I am at the point that I CAN'T WAIT for them to be a little more self-sufficient...I know, I know, it will come soon enough and I'll be writing blogs like this!!!

Renee or should I call you "Grasshopper" - the time will come, and all too soon, when you'll be wondering if your kids will ever need you again - (that is to say other than for money;)
Thanks for commenting and be very blessed today!
